The changing nature of military operations presents new challenges in the field of hazard management and decontamination.
It is likely that military and civil standards for tolerable residual hazards will converge over the next five years and it is
unlikely that future challenges will be met using evolutions of our current contamination control systems.
The Revolutionary Approaches to Hazard Mitigation Conference will address new approaches to hazardous chemical and material cleanup.
Revolutionary and not evolutionary approaches to new capabilities and new system of systems approaches will be presented.
Topic areas for the meeting will include novel approaches to hazard mitigation including application of industrial processes.
The conference also seeks to explore how recent advances in areas such as molecular engineering, nanomaterials, informatics, colloids
and polymer science, green chemistry, host quest materials, inorganic hybrids and biotechnology might aid the development of future
Hazard Management systems.
