Authors of accepted oral and poster abstracts will be required to submit a manuscript via this website by 15 September 2008 (Updated) in Portable
Document Format (PDF).
The top manuscripts from both oral and poster presenters will receive an award during the CBD PS&T Awards Dinner
on Thursday, 20 November.
NOTICE: We are still accepting manuscripts for the CBD PS&T Conference. However, manuscripts submitted after 16 September 2008 will not be considered for a conference award. They will however, be included in the formal conference proceedings.

PUBLICATION
All manuscripts will be published in the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) after the conference.In order for the manuscripts to be published, authors have to submit a signed copy of their agency’s Approved for Public Release form or use the provided Disclosure Authorization Form. All forms must be received by 20 October 2008 (Updated) or your presentation will be cancelled.
INSTRUCTIONS
Page Set-Up: Manuscripts should be three pages or more in length (single spaced) and fit on 8-1/2 x 11-inch paper. If graphics are included in the manuscript, they must be contained within the margins. Use 1-inch margins top and bottom, left and right. Use 12-point Times New Roman.Format: Each manuscript must include title, authors with addresses, abstract, introduction, conclusion, acknowledgements, and references. Other sections may be included as appropriate, see below.
All section headings after the title and author should begin on the third line from the previous section. The heading should be in CAPITAL, BOLDFACE type and justified left. The text for each section should start on the line immediately after the heading. Paragraphs should be indented 0.3 inches. This includes all paragraphs: abstract, body and conclusion. Please see the example below.
- Title and Author: The title should clearly articulate the objective of the paper. The title should be in CAPITAL, BOLDFACE type, center on the width of the opening page. Names of authors should be centered on the third line below the title. The name(s) should be shown as first name, middle initial and last name or first initial, middle name and last name, as preferred. If there is only one author, his/her organization and address should be single spaced below the name. If there is more than one author, separate the authors by organizaion and address.
- Abstract: The abstract should be placed on the third line below the author names and addresses, as described above. The abstract must clearly articulate the objective of the manuscript and significant results or conclusions. The abstract must be 150 words or less.
- Introduction: The introduction of the manuscript should include any previous related work, the goal of the current study, and an overview of the extent of the current study. All results and discussions should be contained in later sections, not in the introduction.
- Body of Text: The main body of the text can be organized and formatted to best present the material. Possible sections include: previous work, experimental methods, theory, results, discussion; but may contain others as appropriate. All material should be presented clearly and concisely. Each section should contain the appropriate heading in CAPITAL, BOLDFACE LETTERS.
- Conclusions: Each manuscript must contain a Conclusions section. The conclusion should be written for the general reader. Conclusions should be based on work and data presented in the manuscript. The conclusion should also state the value of this work and how it contributes to the specific field of science.
- Acknowledgments: Any Acknowledgement should be presented as text.
- References: All references should be contained at the end of the manuscript as endnotes. No footnotes should be shown at the bottom of each page. References should be designated in the text by consecutive superscript Arabic numbers.
All tables, formulas, graphs, and figures should be included in the text as close as possible to the points of reference and must be fully contained within the specified margins. Manuscripts will be reproduced in BLACK AND WHITE only.
The word "TABLE" should be capitalized, followed by the table number and title, and placed directly above the table. Most graphs and all figures will require numbers and captions. Figure captions are placed below the figure, with capitalization of the first word only, and ending with a period.

ABSTRACT
