Future Science & Technology Challenges
The Joint Science and Technology Office (JSTO) of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) within the Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBDP) will host the inaugural Chemical and Biological Defense Physical
Science and Technology (CBD PS&T) Conference, in New Orleans, LA, 17-21 November 2008. This conference will showcase basic and early applied research
relevant to chemical and biological defense for the warfighter. The conference will identify emerging trends and requirements in
CB research and will create an opportunity for cross-pollination and collaboration between the traditional CB scientific disciplines
to achieve convergence in the fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and the cognitive sciences.
The conference will discuss current and future CB defense challenges for both military and first responders. Oral and poster
presentations will address all areas of physical science and technology relevant to future chemical and biological defense
requirements. Outstanding members of the CB research community will be highlighted and recognized by the presentation of awards
based on the quality of the individual research and presentations submitted to the conference.
The CBD PS&T Conference will be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, New Orleans, LA.
